Continuing the practice of consultative meetings with the non-governmental sector during election campaigns, the director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption Jelena Perović and her colleagues met with representatives of the Civic Alliance (CA), the Center for Civil Liberties (CEGAS), and the Center for Democratic Transition (CDT), and the Center for Monitoring and Research (CeMI).

In the latest report of the European Commission on the progress of Montenegro in the accession negotiations with the European Union, the Agency is the best-rated institution in chapter 23, which is also the merit of the civil society organization, Director Perović emphasized. Cooperation with the NGO sector, especially in the competences related to the electoral process, contributed to the improvement of the responsibility and reputation of this institution.

Assistant Director Boris Vukašinović pointed out the practical challenges in the work of the Agency caused by the non-compliance of the Law on Financing of Political Entities and Election Campaigns, the Law on Misdemeanors and the Law on Election of Councilors and Members of Parliament.

100 lists will participate in the local elections on October 23, announced the head of the Section for Implementation of Control Measures in Financing of Political Entities and Election Campaigns, Dušan Drakić, who introduced the interlocutors to the activities of the Agency, and the mechanisms and tools used in campaign control and supervision.

The management of the Agency called on the NGO sector to make a joint effort to initiate the reform of the electoral legislation, as an essential condition for improving the legitimacy and credibility of the electoral process
