The Agency for Prevention of Corruption organised educational seminar for public officials on obligations of public officials prescribed by the Law on Prevention of Corruption. In addition to public officials, the training was also intended for those categories of civil servants for which a separate law lays down the obligation to submit statement of income and assets.

The Agency has been continuously organising training courses, seminars and other forms of educational activities for the entities obligated under the law for the purpose of ensuring consistent implementation of the Law on Prevention of Corruption and other regulations falling within competences of the Agency and prevention of irregularities in application of the regulations mentioned above.

The Agency’ s representatives informed participants about legal obligations and specific examples of application of legal provisions in the areas of declaring income and assets, preventing conflict of interest and complying with restrictions to the exercise of public office.

Head of the Department for Verification of Information from the Statements of Income and Assets Ms. Dragana Šuković particularly emphasised different forms of statements of income and assets which public officials are obligated to submit to the Agency in different periods and phases of exercise of their public office, while she also highlighted deadlines for filing statements and information which must be indicated in such statements.

Head of the Department for Prevention of Conflict of Interest Ms. Maja Karas Bošković informed training participants about provisions of the Law on Prevention of Corruption, as well as about other provisions of laws and regulations governing duties of public officials in relation to prevention of conflict of interest and restrictions to the exercise of public office.

In this area as well, participants had the possibility of receiving information about specific examples of application of legal provisions which are most often encountered by the entities obligated under the law, such as transition to another public office or membership in several working bodies.

Senior advisor at the IT Department Mr. Miloš Vujošević gave a presentation to the trainees on how a legally valid statement of income and assets is to be submitted to the Agency and how electronic version of that statement is properly filled out and submitted.

The training was attended by 27 participants from 11 ministries, other state administration bodies and Judicial Council.
