APC participated in the technical meeting of the initiative Regional Roadmap on Anti-Corruption and Illicit Finance Flows

The representative of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption, Nina Sekulović, an independent advisor in the Section for International Cooperation, Standards and Public Relations, was part of the Montenegrin delegation that participated in the technical meeting dedicated to the implementation of the "Regional Roadmap on Anti-Corruption and Illicit Finance Flows", held in Ljubljana on November 29 and 30, 2022. The event was organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI).

In addition to the Agency official, the Montenegrin delegation consisted of representatives of the General Secretariat of the Government, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of the Interior, the Police Directorate, the Supreme Court, the Cabinet of the Minister without portfolio in charge of corruption and the NGO Civic Alliance.

At the meeting, it was assessed that the countries of the region have made progress in fulfilling the main goals of the Regional Roadmap, which include strengthening the system for preventing conflicts of interest and reporting assets.

The members of the Montenegrin delegation expressed a strong determination to improve the fight against economic crime through the creation of a regional network of specialized prosecutors, police and financial intelligence services at the level of the Western Balkan countries.

The meeting was an opportunity for the participants to exchange opinions on the activities and dynamics of the implementation of priorities from the Roadmap, which will be discussed at the Regional Conference to be held in mid-December in Skopje, which will bring together high-ranking representatives of the region's governments, as well as experts.

The initiative Regional Roadmap on Anti-Corruption and Illicit Finance Flows is implemented under the auspices of the Berlin Process and with the expert support of UNODC and RAI.
