Continued training on actions upon whistle-blower reporting

Training on actions upon whistle-blower reporting was held in Kolašin as the follow-up of educational activities of the project “Let Your Voice Be Heard” implemented by NGO Centre for Development of Non-Governmental Organizations (CRNVO) in cooperation with the Agency for Prevention of Corruption.

The goal is to train participants and persons assigned to act upon the reports of whistle-blowers in educational institutions, to conduct the process upon reported corruption. In particular, the emphasis is on informing the participants about legal procedures, rules and obligations of state authorities as well as the persons who submit reports.

Officer in the Division for Responding to the Reports and Protection of Whistle-Blowers, Mr. Mirko Martić, familiarized the participants with the legal responsibilities of the Agency in compliance with the provisions of the Law on Prevention of Corruption, which regulate the area of reporting the doubt in endangering of public interest referring to the existence of corruption, as well as recent practice and activities of the Division. Martić explained the procedures stipulated by the Law, duties of the persons assigned to respond to the reports, procedure upon the report before the Agency, recent practice and manners of protection to the persons who submit reports i.e. whistle-blowers.

During the second part of the training, besides the presented duties and procedures during their action upon the reports of whistle-blowers, the trainees had an opportunity to apply acquired knowledge on specific examples in this area. The training was attended by twenty representatives of elementary and secondary schools, assigned to act upon whistle-blower report.

CRNVO project “Let Your Voice Be Heard” has been aimed at strengthening capacities for efficient implementation of the provisions related to whistle-blowers, i.e. education, research and promotion in the area of whistle-blower protection and is supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
