The purpose of the visit by the esteemed guests was to gain a better understanding of the preventive anti-corruption legal framework and the state of the rule of law in Montenegro.

The President of the Council summarized the performance of this body during the mandate that began in July 2019, highlighting the reforms that improved the Agency's work and the efforts made to progress from being the lowest-rated institution in Chapter 23 of the EU accession negotiations to receiving positive reports from international partners (the European Commission, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Group of States against Corruption).

The Director of the Agency presented the practice of implementing anti-corruption laws and highlighted examples that indicate their deficiencies, emphasizing the need to initiate thorough and comprehensive work on their amendments.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Belgrade is responsible for cooperation with Montenegro on a non-residential basis.
