Determined amount of funds that a political entity can spend on financing the election campaign in Herceg Novi

Based on the authorizations from the Law on Financing of Political Entities and Election Campaigns, the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption issued a decision on the amount of funds that a political entity can spend on financing the election campaign for elections of councilors in the Municipal Assembly of Herceg Novi, which will be held on May 9. 2021

The law stipulates that the maximum allowed amount may not exceed the amount of budget funds allocated for financing the costs of the election campaign, which are at the level of 0.25% of the planned current municipal budget.

The current budget of the Municipality of Herceg Novi for 2021 is € 12,163,000. As € 30,407.50 is opted for the election campaign from the municipal treasury, this is also the limit of campaign expenses per political entity.

Taking into account the transparency, credibility and legitimacy of the election process, the Agency will control the costs of political entities in the campaign, perform substantive control of their activities, and especially control funds collected from public and private sources, in accordance with the Law.
