Study visit of the delegation of the State Commission for corruption prevention of North Macedonia to the Agency for Prevention of Corruption

Study visit of the delegation of the State Commission for corruption prevention of North Macedonia, led by the president of the Commission, Ms. Biljana Ivanovska, was organized on 29 and 30 May 2019 in the Agency for Prevention of Corruption.

At the beginning of the meeting with the representatives of the Commission, the director of the Agency, Mr. Sreten Radonjić and the president of the Agency’s Council, Ms. Goranka Vučinić, underlined recent cooperation of the two institutions, but also emphasized the necessity of strengthening such cooperation with a view of further improvement of efficiency of corruption prevention, through the exchange of experience and best practices.

Representatives of several divisions and departments of the Agency informed the delegation of the State Commission about their responsibilities and work results, with particular emphasis on the prevention of conflict of interests, verification of incomes and property of public officials, control of financing of political entities and election campaigns, responds to the reports of whistle-blowers and usage of information system of the Agency. They presented specific software solutions and IT tools used by the Agency in the mentioned priority areas of work of this public authority.

During the visit, experiences were exchanged on positive practices in the work of two institutions and there were discussions on further implementation of mutual cooperation.

Representatives of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption in North Macedonia expressed their gratitude for extensive presentation of work processes, practices and experience of Montenegrin Agency. They also emphasized that the exchange of experience will contribute to further improvement of the efficiency of work of both institutions, and it will be particularly important for the implementation of new legal responsibilities of the Commission which are similar to the responsibilities of the Agency.
