For the purpose of further institutional development and expansion of the network of international partners, the President of the Council of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption Mr. Momcilo Radulovic and the Director Ms. Jelena Perovic met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Montenegro Mr. Karl Michael Müller.

During the open and meaningful conversation, President Mr. Radulovic informed the Ambassador about the structural and organizational reforms initiated by the Council appointed in July 2019, which were implemented by the Agency's leadership, strengthening the anti-corruption platform and developing a spectrum of anti-corruption mechanisms.

Speaking about the application of the policy of zero tolerance to breaking the law, the President also mentioned certain shortcomings of the legislative anti-corruption framework that needs to be improved, but the first precondition for that is the existence of political will.

They also talked about the challenges and pressures that the Agency is facing, and which are trying to influence its work and deep commitment to the protection of the public interest.

Director Ms. Perovic presented to the distinguished guest examples from the Agency's practice, especially emphasizing the corruption proofing of legislation, as a powerful instrument that identifies norms that can create a legislative space for systemic corruption.

Emphasizing the fight against corruption as the very core of the rule of law, His Excellency highlighted the need to educate young people and involve them in solving this problem.

With the expressed support for the efforts of the leadership, Ambassador Miller offered assistance in connecting the Agency with anti-corruption institutions in Austria, in order to exchange experiences and get acquainted with the methodology and principles of their work.
