Expressing commitment to the path of European integration and international cooperation as one of the foundations of institutional development, representatives of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption, Director Jelena Perovic and Head of the Department for International Cooperation, Standards and Public Relations Marina Micunovic will participate during the week, at a high and operational level, in the work of the Regional Forum of the Western Balkan Six (WB6) in Ohrid, North Macedonia.

The event takes place under the auspices of the Berlin Process, an intergovernmental diplomatic initiative related to the enlargement of the European Union, and dedicated to improving multilateral ties between the six Western Balkan countries and six EU members (Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, France and Italy). Created in 2014 at the initiative of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the Process strongly supports the European perspective of the region, encouraging reforms.

Acting within the initiative, the Agency presents legal and institutional solutions in the field of corruption prevention with the achieved results, and discusses further directions of action with other participants.

During the Regional Forum, the Roadmap on Anti-Corruption and Illicit Finance Flows will be agreed upon, and then, on Friday, June 25, by the Ministers of Interior, Justice and Heads of anti-corruption agencies of the member states.

The map, prepared with the expert assistance of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI), identifies the goals of joint action by the Western Balkans in further strengthening the reporting of conflict of interest and income and assets and the fight against corruption in public procurement, improving the criminal justice response to corruption and economic crime through the creation of a regional network of special prosecutors, and improving the criminal justice response to corruption and crime in sport.
