Participation of the APC in the 36th meeting of the RAI Steering Group

Dedicated to developing cooperation, Deputy High Representative of Montenegro in the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) Marina Mićunović, Head of the Department for International Cooperation, Standards and Public Relations of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption, participated in the 36th Steering Group meeting in Zagreb on November 2th and 3th.

During the meeting, the activities of this intergovernmental regional organization on the implementation of the Work Plan 2021-2022 were discussed, plans for the period 2022-2023 were presented, as well as the adopted budget for 2022.

A special part of the meeting was dedicated to the discussion on further organizational development of RAI, partnership and strategic prospects in the coming period.

Montenegro has been a member of RAI since its founding in 2000, under the auspices of the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe. The Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative, which brings together eight other countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania and Serbia), continuously encourages and through various activities helps member states to implement related complex reforms of institutional and legislative frameworks aimed at combating against corruption.

Through this initiative, Montenegro is currently implementing projects dedicated to capacity building in the field of corruption proofing of legislation and integrity plans, and a new phase of the project in the area of recovery of assets acquired by criminal offense.
