Meeting with high representatives of the World Bank

Recognizing the need for further institutional development and capacity building, and deepening ties with international partners, the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency Jelena Perović and President of the APC’s Council Momcilo Radulović and associates held an online meeting with high representatives of the World Bank on Thursday, February 4, 2021.

The meeting was attended by a team consisting of, among others, representatives of the local World Bank office and experts in the field of anti-corruption, led by Mr. Roberto Adrian Senderowitsch, Manager of the Management Sector for Europe and Central Asia.

The topics on the scope and manner of possible cooperation between the two institutions were discussed during the meeting. Representatives of the Agency informed their interlocutors about the recent structural and personnel reforms within this institution, aimed at more efficient and effective anti-corruption activities. They noted the progress made in terms of transparency and openness of the Agency for the civil sector, media and other actors.

Some of the key priorities in the coming period are related to raising the level of quality of analytical processing and presentation of data available to the Agency. In this regard, the need was expressed for the support of the World Bank, and reliance on the knowledge, experience and impartiality of foreign experts, who would contribute to raising the new quality of analytical data processing.

Representatives of the World Bank announced that they would inform the Agency about the possibilities for concretization of support and cooperation. The meeting was a continuation of the communication between the two institutions, whose representatives also met on January 22.
