Co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for Montenegro visited the Agency

On 12 September, the co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for Montenegro visited the Agency. The delegation was composed of the representative of the Group of European People’s Party, Mr. Ionut-Marian Stroe, the representative of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, Mr. Anne Mulder and secretary of Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Mr. Alexis Salanson.

Deputy director of the Agency, Mr. ASK Savo Milašinović, head of Division for Control of Financing of Political Entities and Election Campaigns, Mr. Dušan Drakić and head of international cooperation, Marina Mićunović, presented the responsibilities of the Agency as the central prevention anti-corruption body and particularly emphasized key results of this authority in raising integrity of public officials and state authorities and construction of ethical infrastructure in Montenegro.

In the area of the control of financing of political entities and election campaigns, besides continued assurance of transparency of this process, the representatives of the Agency highlighted that recent activities of the implementation of the Law in this area resulted in the creation of recommendations for amendments to this Law, submitted to responsible Working group in the Parliament. They emphasized that the incorporation of the mentioned recommendations will contribute to efficient control of political entities and election campaigns implemented by the Agency.

The co-rapporteurs visited Montenegro so as to obtain information on activities implemented by our country in terms of completing the recommendations and obligations referred to in Resolution 2030 (2015) “Adherence to Duties and Obligations by Montenegro“, adopted by PSSE in January 2015, in which fight against corruption is one of the most significant topics. The visit of the co-rapporteurs to the Agency was preceded by the submission of Information on implementation of the recommendations from the mentioned Resolution, with data on results in the area of work of this authority.
