Representatives of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption attended the international conference of the Council of Europe entitled “Strengthening transparency and accountability to ensure integrity: united against corruption”, held in Šibenik, Croatia on 15-16 October 2018.
The conference brought together high representatives of the Council of Europe and other regional and international organizations, as well as the heads of delegations, experts and representatives of the justice and anticorruption authorities of the GRECO member countries.
On the second day of the conference, a Declaration launching an international network of national anti-corruption bodies has been opened for signature. The purpose of the network is to set minimum standards in the area of prevention of corruption, as well as to promote institutional governance and exchange of information and good practice between national authorities responsible for prevention of corruption. Montenegro is one of the founding signatories of this network, on behalf of which the Agency for Prevention of Corruption signed the Declaration.
On that occasion, representatives of the Montenegrin delegations held several meetings on the margins of events, including meetings with representatives of the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI), the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODHIR), the Independent Commission for the Fight against Corruption of the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong (ICAC) and the Ethics and Conflict of Interest Commission of Canada.
