Council of the Agency for Prevention of Corrupiton

Session of the APC’s Council

At today's session, the APC’s Council discussed the Information on the implementation of the Annual Plan for Verification of Income and Assets of Public Officials and Civil Servants in 2021.

A revision of the Methodology for the Verification of Income and Assets has been initiated, which implies a reduction in the number of public officials who will be the subject of the so-called in-depth verification, which would also include related persons to a public official, public procurement and other relevant data.

Also, in order to improve the efficiency of verifications, it was proposed to compile a list of public functions of the Government, Parliament and judicial authorities in the Annual Verification Plan for next year, which will belong to the category of person who are subject to mandatory verification, and who are most vulnerable to corruption on the basis of integrity plans, while verification of other categories would be done by random selection.

Since the beginning of the year, verifications of 1,106 Reports on Income and Assets have been initiated. 1,076 reports were verified, of which 948 were in accordance with the Annual Verification Plan, 82 ex officio, 24 at the request of another state authority, while 22 proceedings were initiated at the request of another natural person or anonymously.

The Annual Verification Plan was realized by 107.23% in relation to this plan, and the number of performed controls ex officio increased sixfold in the previous year.

Based on the verification of the Income and Assets Reports, 302 administrative procedures were initiated, which was four times more than in 2020.
