Using its legal powers, the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption controlled and ex officio supervised the payments of social assistance and material benefits from the current budget reserve and the transfer of one-time financial assistance in the Municipality of Nikšić on Thursday, February 4, 2021, in the period from January 5, when local elections are announced, until February 4, 2021.

Based on the published, downloaded and reviewed entire documentation, no violation of the Law on Financing of Political Entities and Election Campaigns during the campaign for the election of councilors in the Municipal Assembly of Nikšić was determined. Substantiating its activities according to the Law, using the Methodology for Investigations on Potential Abuses of State Resources for Election Purposes, done in cooperation with experts of the Council of Europe, implementing the Control and Monitoring Plan for the election campaign for local elections in Nikšić, the Agency will continue to monitor the election process, resolutely acting to protect the public interest.
