The Law on Financing of Political Entities prescribes the obligation for political entities to open a special gyro account with the institution authorized for payment operations for the purpose of collecting funds for financing election campaign expenses, no later than the next day from the day of confirming the electoral list. They will notify the Agency of mentioned within three days from the day of opening.

Exceptionally, political entity is obliged to open a special account, before the start of the election campaign in case this entity starts the campaign before the confirmation of the election list.

In accordance with Article 2 of this Law, the election campaign is a set of activities of a political entity from the day of calling the elections to the day of announcing the final election results, which relate to: public presentation and promotion of candidates, promotion and explanation of election programs with the aim of convincing voters to vote for the candidate of that political entity or the electoral list submitted by that political entity.

The Agency invites all political entities to open a special gyro account before the start of the election campaign activities for the local elections in Nikšić and inform the Agency about it.

Failure to comply with this obligation entails the initiation of misdemeanor proceedings.
