The call for APC to present the system of prevention and management of conflict of interests at the session of the Working Group on Prevention of Corruption (UNODC– UNCAC), followed upon the assessment that, of the inputs received from 51 countries, the most interesting ones were those on the practice implemented in Montenegro, the United States and New Zealand.

The ninth Meeting of the Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group on Prevention of Corruption was held on 5-7 September 2018. The Agency for Prevention of Corruption, as the national coordinator for activities related to the UNCAC implementation review mechanism, was invited to present good practice in the area of prevention and management of conflict of interests.

For the needs of the ninth meeting of the Working Group, the Agency has provided information on the implementation of Chapter II of the UNCAC (Prevention of Corruption), specifically the provisions on prevention of conflict of interest and collection and verification of asset declarations. Subsequently, the UNODC invited the Agency representative to participate as a panelist at the meeting, since, of the inputs received from 51 countries, the most interesting ones were those on the practice implemented in Montenegro, the United States and New Zealand.

On this occasion, APC representative Marina Mićunović, presented the experience and good practice of the Agency in the area of prevention and management of conflict of interests, alongside the panelists from the United States, New Zealand and the OECD.

The Working Group is an advisory body of the Conference of State Parties to the UNCAC, which meets once a year. Upon request of the UNODC, the Agency regularly submits information on Montenegrin practice in the area of prevention of ​​corruption.
