The Agency for Prevention of Corruption exercises control over implementation of the Law on Prevention of Corruption, as well as over the Law on Financing Political Parties and Election Campaigns and Law on Lobbying.

In the area of prevention of conflict of interest and control of compliance with restrictions to the exercise of public office, upon motions filed by public officials and state bodies the Agency issued 56 opinions in the period from 1 October 2018 to 31 December 2018 which are binding on public officials. The percentage of compliance with the given opinions is 100% and no administrative procedures were initiated on the basis of the Agency’s opinions.

Acting by virtue of office and upon motions filed by the parties for the purpose of establishing violations of legal provisions in the areas mentioned above, the Agency also issued:

- 5 decisions in the area of prevention of conflict of interest, of which in 3 violations of the law due to conflict of interest were established,

- 17 decisions in the area of restrictions to the exercise of public office, and violations of the law were established in all 17 of them;

- Moreover, in the period mentioned above the Agency also issued 18 decisions related to the certification of income and assets of public officials and rendered 15 decisions on violation of the law in this area. The Agency also issued 16 decisions by which it finalised procedures initiated for the purpose of verifying acquisition of funds and sources of assets worth of over EUR 5,000, and no violations were found in these.

On the basis of the Agency’ s opinions and decisions, 20 public officials resigned in the period from 01 October 2018 to 31 December 2018. Table 1 contains more detailed data on resignations: Resignations of Public Officials on the basis of the Agency’ s Opinions and Decisions.

On the basis of the Agency’ s decisions, state authorities imposed 10 dismissals and disciplinary measures. Table 2 contains more detailed data -Dismissals, Suspensions and Disciplinary Measures.

Due to suspicion of violations of the provisions of this law, in the period from 1 October 2018 to 31 December 2018 the Agency initiated 66 misdemeanour procedures. In this period:

- 118 misdemeanour cases which the Agency initiated in the period mentioned above were resolved;

- 114 misdemeanour sanctions were imposed;

- fines totalling EUR 17,185.
