Council of the Agency Holds Its Third Meeting

Council of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption has sent a Request to the Government of Montenegro for provision of funds and premises necessary for the functioning of the Council and work of the Director.

At today’s third meeting, the Council of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption stated that the following candidates applied to Open Vacancy Notice for the election of the director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption, No. 00-64/15-3  of 21 August 2015:  

  • Ms Elvira Pupović, advisor to head - independent advisor I in the Secretariat for Economy and Finance, Municipality of Budva;
  • Mr Sreten Radonjić, pensioner - former manager of the Forensic Centre;
  • Željko Tomović, lawyer;
  • Dušan Drakić, employee of the Directorate for Anti-Corruption Initiative; and
  • Mladen Tomović, independent advisor I (coordinator in the Directorate for Anti-Corruption Initiative).

Council of the Agency for Prevention sent from the meeting a Request to the Government of Montenegro, informing the Government that from the day of election it has been facing the lack of funds and space for work. With regard to that, the Council requests from the Government  - in accordance with its legal responsibilities - to create preconditions for the work, warning that the Council of the Agency and the Director, whose election is ongoing, will not be able, due to objective reasons, to perform their duties and implement obligations related to provision of normative work conditions for the beginning of the work of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption, prescribed by the Law on Prevention of Corruption.  

The Council has decided to continue the procedure for the election of Director of the  Agency after the Ministry of Justice submits criminal record certificate of candidates, afterwards they will check if the candidates fulfil conditions prescribed by the Open Vacancy Notice, pursuant to Article 91, paragraph 4 of the Law on Prevention of Corruption.

During the continuation of the meeting, the Committee members discussed the Proposal for the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption, submitted by Mr Bojan Obrenović, member of the Council of the Agency.
