Signed Agreement on Cooperation between the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and the Commission for Securities

Director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption Sreten Radonjić and President of the Commission for Securities Zoran Đikanović PhD signed the Agreement which shall regulate in more detail the mutual cooperation in the exchange of information and data in the procedures of determining conflict of interest and monitoring the assets of public officials, especially in the part relating to the registration of securities of public officials, as well as other activities within the competence of the Agency and the Commission. 


The agreement stipulates that the Agency and the Commission exchange data, information and experiences concerning the assets of public officials in the form of securities, as well as to conduct joint trainings with the aim of professional development of officers who work directly in the processing and control of data. Data exchange will be carried out in such a manner that the Commission will provide the Agency electronic access to the above data in real time from the registers in their jurisdiction.


The aim of the cooperation of the Agency and the Commission is to achieve a high level of awareness for the purpose of prevention and detection of conflicts of interest of public officials, the development of the capacities of the Agency and of the Commission and support the implementation of the Law on Prevention of Corruption and of the laws and bylaws regulating the area of securities market, as well as to protect the rights of holders of securities, achieving good results in the area of conflict of interest and capital markets and the timely and accurate provision of information on the assets of public officials.


Today's signing of the agreement is a continuation of these activities of the Agency in order to further strengthen the cooperation with state authorities and institutions that have databases that are essential for the efficient operation of the Agency. As a reminder, the Agency signed late last year agreements on cooperation with the Tax Administration and with the Real Estate Administration, as well as with several non-governmental organizations.
