A lecture held in Berane on the responsibilities of the Agency and obligations under anti-corruption laws

Representatives of the Agency responded to all questions of the training participants on the competences of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, as well as the rights and duties of the persons subject to the Law on the Prevention of Corruption, the Law on Lobbying and the Law on Financing of Political Entities and Election Campaigns

The training was held in the hall of the Berane City Hall on the topic "Competencies of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and Obligations of Authorities and Political Entities in the Implementation of Anti-Corruption Laws". The training in Berane was attended by 20 participants, representatives of the Berane Municipality and the Berane Municipal Assembly, as well as representatives of public companies and public institutions established by local self-government.

The training was organized to efficiently fulfill all the obligations of authorities anticipated by anti-corruption laws. Participants’ attention was drawn to the importance of general promotion of ethical principles and culture of integrity at all levels in local self-government, and the legal obligation to adopt integrity plans and reports on their implementation.

The Coordinator of the Sector for the Prevention of Corruption, Mr. Mladen Tomović, spoke about the practical implementation of integrity plans and timely analysis of corruption risks in the institution, the role of integrity managers in promoting anti-corruption regulations, and the obligation of all employees in the public sector to comply with these regulations.

The participants of the training were also introduced with the legal obligations related to the reception and handling of whistleblowers' reports and the protection of whistleblowers, with an emphasis on an effective system of controlling the reporting on the irregularities and the skills of persons receiving whistleblower reports.

The obligations of lobbied persons and authorities in accordance with the Law on Lobbying, and in particular reporting obligations related to allowed and unauthorized lobbying, were also explained in accordance with the provisions of this Law. The provisions of the Law on the Prevention of Corruption related to the prevention of the conflicts of interest were also presented.

Mr. Dušan Drakić, Head of the Department for the implementation of control measures in the financing of political entities and electoral campaigns, presented attendees with the obligations of political entities and authorities under the Law on Financing of Political Entities and Election Campaigns.

The representatives of the Agency responded to all the questions of the training attendees on the competences of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, as well as the rights and duties of the persons subject to the Law on the Prevention of Corruption, the Law on Lobbying and the Law on Financing of Political Entities and Election Campaigns. Participants were given anti-corruption material - newsletters and flyers on various topics in the field of work of the Agency.
